Jake I. Berkowitz

Jake I. Berkowitz is an Associate at Greenstein & Milbauer, LLP and dedicates his practice to helping those who have suffered serious and severe personal injuries. Mr. Berkowitz is involved in all stages of the litigation process and is extremely passionate in ensuring that his clients receive the full and just compensation they deserve. Mr. Berkowitz understands the hardship that his clients experience and specializes in bringing cases to a quick resolution while keeping his clients informed every step of the way.

Mr. Berkowitz has experience in all aspects of litigation, in a variety of different areas of negligence including: premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, dog bites, toxic torts, false imprisonment, false arrest, police brutality, nursing home negligence, and other civil litigation areas. Mr. Berkowitz has become a key member of our team that is spearheading toxic tort litigation for victims who have suffered serious and severe personal injuries due to a failure of removing mold in apartments and houses throughout New York.

EDUCATION AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Born and raised in Manhattan, Mr. Berkowitz earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and is currently admitted in the State of New York. During law school, Mr. Berkowitz interned for the Honorable Barbara Jaffa, New York Supreme Court, New York County where he assisted in both legal research and writing. Following his internship with Justice Barbara Jaffa, Mr. Berkowitz participated in the New York State Unified Court System’s Office of Alternate Dispute Resolution Program and mediated multiple small claims cases in collaboration with John Jay Legal Services Inc. and Cluster, Inc. and played an intricate role in helping bring these cases to a fair and swift resolution. Finally, while in law school, Mr. Berkowitz also acted as the Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for his Alma Mater, the Birch Wathen Lenox School, Manhattan.

Mr. Berkowitz earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Syracuse University. Before transferring to Syracuse, Mr. Berkowitz attended Ithaca College where he was a member of the Intercollegiate Men’s Basketball Team.
